AND MORE FUN DURING MATHS WEEK
Classroom Medics
The ‘Classroom Medics were invited into school, as part of our Maths Week.
Two workshops were delivered to each of our Year six classes. The first workshop was the Classroom Casualty. The children were taught how to use proper medical equipment to measure each other's blood pressure, pulse rate, temperature and the amount of oxygen in their blood.
They were also able to look inside their ears. Definitely was not most pupils favourite part of the day!!!
The second workshop focussed around sports science games which we felt provided good enrichment activities in preparation for the Olympics. Children were able to measure their sprint time, throwing speed, jump distance and accuracy skill using the dance mat. The children were overwhelmed, had lots and lots of fun and learned a lot.

Becca and Alex were on hand to answer questions and help out with measurements. They also spoke to us about a range of different jobs in the medical profession like radiographers, surgeons, anaesthetists, paramedics, nurses, pharmacists etc.
